About

Formed in 2008 and headquartered in Trevose, PA, MBFS is a Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO) owned by credit unions to serve credit unions. With more than 7,000 business loans and over $3 billion in loan balances, we provide commercial lending services throughout the United States. MBFS assists credit unions within their local markets and, if they have a geo-region risk mitigation plan in place, can extend support nationwide.

Our organization works with credit unions to help them achieve their strategic lending goals at a lower cost than they could achieve individually, leveraging the cooperative spirit of the credit union movement.

MBFS offers a comprehensive range of services including credit analysis, loan document preparation, shared relationship manager programs, portfolio risk management, loan servicing, consulting, and educational opportunities.

CUSO Overview

In the following introductory video, Mark Ritter, CEO of MBFS, provides a brief overviewof the origins and history of the CUSO and outlines some of the reasons that a credit union may elect to utilize the services of a credit union service organization (CUSO). Mark also shares the vision, experience, and purpose that drive our work every day.

MBFS exists to support credit unions that are, or would like to be, involved in member business lending with and for their members. The CUSO supports our partners by providing the professional expertise and systems required to launch, maintain, or grow a member business lending (MBL) portfolio. We provide scalable support—without a large barrier to entry—by providing an à la carte service menu without an introductory fee or annual membership fee. The only costs to credit unions are for the services they select.
